The Don has a new wheel :)

Post by Don »

Last friday i finally bought the TS-XW on ebay for 519 Euro (569 Euro minus 50 Euro black-friday-tech-discount), which was the lowest offer i saw during the last 6 months. Today the wheel arrived and tonight i will go for the first ride with it (at least i hope so ;) ). I just have to assemble the hole thing and i hope the cables are long enough for my desk. But we will see.

Parallel i bought the TH8A-shifter on amazon for 99,90 Euro (originally 129,90 Euro with a 30 Euro voucher i still had laying around here). The shifter was not instantly available there (at least not for that price), but today morning i got the notice that it is on the way and will be delivered during the next week.

well, isnt that good news, im sure you will see how much better
it is then the old G27 was.

Good choice to also get the shifter, alltho it probably will have to
be attached to something lower then the desk because the hole
thing is a lot bigger and higher then the old G27 shifter unit.
now all you need is the t3pa pedal set and you are set.

It looks awesome, the th8a shifter will have the knob sticking out
above the steering rim, it's that much bigger then the cheap G27 toy shifter

I'm sure you will like it that much more then the G27.

I myself was suprised to how much better the trustmaster wheels are when i switched...

Sure you pay a lot more for them but they are totally worth it and the best part is...
No wear and tear since it has no cogs and works with magnets instead, making
the feel and overal quality at least 3 times better then logitech wheels.

Very good choice maty

P.S. there is no such thing as a profiler for it, just a calibration and overal settings tool.

Edit:

Here is the confirmation
Guillemot Corporation (german Wikipedia-page of the owner-company of Ubisoft and Thrustmaster)

Guillemot Corp. - Claude Guillemot (CEO)
Ubisoft - Yves Guillemot (CEO & President)

Guillemot founded Ubisoft in the 80's and bought Thrustmaster in 1999.

now it's completed :)

@Dog: The shifter is a little bit bigger than the one of the G27, but since you don't have the hole box on the table like on the other one, it doesn't look that big. ;)
